I'm a UC Berkeley professor on sabbatical and looking to sublet my fully furnished Bernal Heights home in San Francisco for the 2022-2023 school year. This is my home, and am looking to rent to responsible people. Dates are negotiable, but am generally looking for something like Aug-Sep 2022 through end of July 2023. It's a spacious four bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, two-story home with an alarm system. It's on a steep street on the eastern side of Bernal near Powhattan and Bradford. I can share a video tour of the house and backyard. $5000 plus water, gas, electricity, and $2500 deposit (includes internet, pickup of recycling, trash, and compost, and maintenance of the backyard). Easy access to 101 and 280. Saturday morning Alemany farmer's market with amazing produce and prepared food is half a mile away. Cute commercial district on Cortland with grocery store, convenience stores, restaurants, cafes, bars, shops is a beautiful ten minute walk--views of the Bay. Entire house has beautiful hardwood floors and a Roomba to clean them. The upper level is the primary living space and includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and three bedrooms. The washer/dryer are in the garage, and fast internet service provided by SF-based ISP Monkey Brains. Spacious living room and dining room look out onto the street with eastern views of Bayview. Gorgeous views of sunrises and moonrises. The living room is furnished with a Room & Board reading chair, a large L-shaped BoConcept sofa facing a giant flatscreen Sony tv with streaming apps, Sony sound system that plays music in the study and living room, Kitchen has lots of counter space, a lightwell with an herb garden, and a bar with three stools separating the kitchen and dining room. Kitchen is fully equipped: gas stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and all kinds of appliances. The dining room sits six easily. The bedroom has a new queen-sized mattress and steel-frame platform bed, nightstand, floor to ceiling lean-to-mirror, lamps, and a large dresser. One of the bedrooms is used as an office with a two-piece hardwood desk and bookshelves across the wall with a full view of the backyard--including plum trees). Another bedroom is a reading room with a nice full size Room & Board pull out sofa. Upstairs bathroom has skylight that lights up the bathroom nicely. Bathtub and shower. Downstairs bathroom is a bit smaller with tub and shower as well. Lots of closet/storage space: large linen closet and coat closet in the hallway, two large closets in the study, and a closet each in the bedroom and reading room. Spacious two-car garage has room for your stuff. The lower level has a bedroom with queen sized bed, bathroom, and a spacious combined den, eating area, and kitchenette (with mini fridge, sink, microwave, and two-top electric stove--though the area should not be used for preparing big meals). There's a patio and spacious backyard on a slope. Patio has a gas grill and patio furniture including a dining table with an umbrella that seats six. $5000 rent plus water, gas, electricity, and $2500 deposit (includes internet, pickup of recycling, trash, and compost, and maintenance of the backyard). No smoking or pets. I'm a professor at UC Berkeley and on sabbatical. I need to rent out my home from Aug-Sep 2022 through July 2023. Looking for responsible renters who need short term housing.
