Sunflower House is comprised of two older 3 story buildings joined together. With 33 private bedrooms, it is the largest housing cooperative in Lawrence. The large size of Sunflower House means there are plenty of space available for various activities. There are plentiful communal spaces and resources including a commercial-grade kitchen, dining and living rooms, entertainment rooms, a workshop with shared tools, an equipped workout area, a shared computer and printer, a projector, patios, a thriving garden, and composting and recycling facilities. There are two washers and two dryers. There is a bathroom in each hallway, including an ADA accessible bathroom. Laundry and detergent, the bulk food program, high-speed wifi, and all utilities are all included in monthly rent, is between $386-$474, depending on room size. In addition to ample bike storage, there is a parking lot and street parking available. Note that no pets are allowed at Sunflower House. Joining Sunflower House is an excellent way to meet new people while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our membership is carefully vetted for safety and dependability.
