Try this 6.4-mile loop trail near Denver, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 58 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Green Mountain Trail winds through dense woods, expansive meadows, and exposed upper slopes, offering breathtaking panoramic views. In summer, it showcases a dazzling array of wildflowers, including Glacier Lilies, Paintbrush, Columbines, Penstemon, and White Valery. The steep trail passes through fields of heather, small ponds, and campsites. Once you reach the summit, you'll come across a lookout tower. This lookout tower was initially constructed in 1933 for fire lookouts. From the lookout tower, you'll be rewarded with even more panoramic views, including the Cascade Peaks, Mount Baker, and Buckindy, to name a few.
