Hello! We're a group of 5 young professional (ages 22-29) at local companies (Amazon, HG Insights, Winning Makes, ScOp Venture Capital, Chumash Fire Department) that are looking for another young professional to fill a private bedroom in our recently remodeled 6 bedroom Victorian home in a great location 5 minutes from Public Market/State Street. The room itself is a quiet private space on the second floor of our home with a large window that provides ample natural lighting. The room comes unfurnished but can be easily finished with a queen bed and a desk. It's room #4 in the floor plan attached with the photos. You'll share a well-finished full bathroom on the second floor with 2 other people. This property also includes off-street parking. We all share the house common areas, which include a modern kitchen, dining room, TV room, reading room, and laundry. There's great Wifi throughout the whole house thanks to a mesh network. The home has a small yard out front and a brick patio down the side. There's also a huge attic with ample space for storage. The fine print: - Room is advertised for a move in as soon as February 15th; $1500 refundable security deposit due on signing of the lease. - Rent for bedroom 4 is $1150 a month; we pay water, electric, utilities, wifi, and renters insurance (required by landlord) and the landlord pays for trash an gardener. Utilities add ~$175 a month on average. - You will be joining our 6 person lease in place of our former housemate; not as a sub-letter. This means you will have to pass a credit/background check. Our lease allows us to perform and add/drop at any time, if you need to move out there is a $150 fee to swap your name on the lease. In that case, you're liable for the rent until we're able to fill the room, though this has never been an issue. - No pets are allowed. As much as we'd would love to live with your dope cat/dog/parrot, our lease forbids it. We would love to make exceptions to this but our landlord has repeatedly made it clear that this is non-negotiable. Sorry in advance. - If this posting is still up, the room is still available. We pick new roommates based on best fit and not first come first served so don't be discouraged if you see this listing a few days after it was posted. If you join the house, you will replace the person moving out on the lease. This means you will be part of a 6 person lease. If you want to move out, you just need to pay a $200 fee to amend it with the person replacing you.
