This house is one of two houses with a shared driveway. This is not the front house which is closer to the road, but the house directly behind the front house. There is a detached garage with swinging doors that can be padlocked if desired. Perfect for tool storage but can be adapted to store a car. There is a small unoccupied apartment next to the garage that is not included in the rental. This house, along with the 2 other houses on the property, are supplied water from a water well that draws from the Edwards Aquifer, so there is no water bill. However the electricity that runs the pumps for the well is drawn from this house so the house electricity with San Antonio Public Service must be kept on at all times. Occasionally, for repairs or maintenance the well is shut off, usually for a few hours but infrequently for a day or two, in which cases there is only a slow trickle of water available. Also during the winter months during hard freezes (below 28F overnight or below 32F throughout the following day) the water must be shut off due to the pipes freezing and water must remain off until the temperature rises to sufficient level for the pipes to thaw. Due to foundation settling, some windows allow some air leakage and are unable to be opened; it is not planned to replace them at this time. The oven/stove is included and, along with the washer/dryer hookups and heating, is gas powered. There is a working dishwasher but no refrigerator included. The houses are on a 7 acre lot which has wildlife including (but not limited to) deer, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, armadillos, possums, and foxes. Small front yard and fenced in back yard/garden must be maintained by tenant. The lease is for a one year term and may be either renewed or continued month to month if desired. Rent is due on the first and after the first a late fee of $10/day will be charged, however this fee will be waved if rent is received no later than the 5th. Smoking is allowed outside but not inside the home. Parking for multiple vehicles is available on the sides of the driveway (which must be kept clear). The detached garage may be cleared of furniture to park one vehicle if desired.
