With total project costs estimated at $135 million, the development has secured a combination of 4% and 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Rental Housing Revolving Funds (RHRF), and Hula Mae Multi-Family (HMMF) Bonds. Additional support comes from the County of Maui's Affordable Housing Program and federal funding sources including HOME, HOME-ARP, and the National Housing Trust Fund. Recognized as a Tier 1 priority in the County of Maui's Affordable Housing Plan, Hale O Piikea is a cornerstone project in the collective effort to create 5,000 affordable homes in five years.
