Buying a home is really not that difficult; you have no real need for a broker/agent, especially if you have clean credit. Your banker can provide equally good estimates of taxes, insurance, and payments. A title company will do a lot of work anyway to work the minor details with your bank, insurance company, termite inspection, etc. (Call a title company and just find out.) I have copies of a legal real estate contract, provided by a title company. The termite contract has been kept good and current. You will have an opportunity for a professional home inspector to inspect the place. You can sign the final closing documents in the private offices of a title company (this is often done even when using a broker/agent). Speaking of title companies, my portion of the transaction will be handled by Faulkner County Title, who done the title work when I bought the home. I recommend that you also use Faulkner County Title for your portion, which will save you a little on closing costs (but you are free to choose).
