"Reed's Retreat on the Necanicum" (&/or Cathy Camps Etc) is a LARGE, (licensed by the City of Seaside for 12 people), 'beach house vacation rental." We've updated it recently, along w/the previous owner, but we've also kept as much of it's 'old charm' where possible. It was built in the 1930's. We sometimes rent it for extended periods, but always maintain the special permit from the City of Seaside as a legal 'vacation rental.' The main house has a large kitchen w/ skylight, large island for casual eating, along with an additional sitting area w/ a walk in pantry. A jacuzzi tub for 2 w/ handheld shower head were added some years ago. Since our purchase of 1518 N Holladay, we have added an additional prep area downstairs w/ a 2nd sink, disposal, dishwasher & storage area, plus a brand new master bathroom w/a nice - 'shower for 2." The home was also used as a yoga and health retreat with an ND. We added a 4th (ADA compliant) bathroom w/ an additional laundry area in the LARGE double garage 2016. (There is enough room for a shop or small art studio along with 2 cars. In 2017 we started construction of an additional home attached to the garage. (1520) It is 2b/2 bath with a jacuzzi & large barrier free showers. There are walk in closets and the down stairs is geared somewhat for ADA living. Also we have installed plumbing for laundry sets on BOTH floors. Both levels also have walk-in closets. The upstairs has views of both Tillamook Head and the Pacific Ocean! (Our original property is approximately 1/3 acre and is zoned " R-3." so that is why we went ahead and built a townhouse in addition to the main home.) The main house (1518) has multiple beautiful river and estuary views from most of the rooms (w/ even a sneak peak of the ocean from an upstairs bathroom!) It has a BIG yard w/ fire pit, a private dock w/ a glass wall w/ a seating area in addition to the larger deck off the back of the home -facing the river big enough to grill etc. Inside the main home there is AMPLE room to sit, read, build a fire in the fireplace, play the piano, cook, eat casually @ the large island (or at the more formal dining room table with a view of the river), watch tv in a separate area, do puzzles, or sit at the built in computer desk w/ wi-fi etc etc. The original wood and brass wet bar is very special too with an especially nice view of the estuary. All appliances have been recently replaced in the home with brand new & upgraded ones, including a new washer & dryer. Although it is locked for 'general use of guests', there is a 4th bedroom/family room on the main floor with a killer view of the estuary!.(We use when guests are not there.) We also have a "to be" dedicated 'man cave' that is in progress in the large basement downstairs. It has a very large wood burning stove, along with many of the areas being designed to entertain young & old alike. The rest of the main home and yard are available to guests. It's within walking distance to a fitness center, the estuary, downtown, our high school & beach play area to clam or fly kites etc. Also, the 'history of the purchase price' is not exactly accurate. In addition to the amount that it (1518) was "Sold For,' does NOT include, that in addition to the cash amountlisted on Zillow for the purchase price, the seller of the home to us ALSO got our neighboring home deeded to them that was "free and clear" worth $225,000 at the time of the sale, along with 'additional cash.'
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
