    Located adjacent to the historic "Robert Dollar" estate, and thought to have been constructed for his guests and business travelers, this 1933 house has retained through the years most of its fine-woodworking details. The upstairs has a huge living room-dining room, the kitchen a large breakfast nook, and there are two bedrooms and one bath on this floor. The living room is entirely paneled in knotty Redwood, its floor old growth Douglas Fir. The ceiling is beamed. The kitchen still has its hand-crafted knotty Redwood cabinets,and the upstairs bathroom is retro with its original fixtures. The downstairs is now a brand-new master -bedroom suite with a walk-in closet. This 1600 square foot residence has been entirely updated in 2021, with new electric throughout, new plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, internet wiring, a new roof, and everything else one can think of. Outside there are stone paths and a stone patio. There is a separate laundry room down some stairs below the kitchen. Because of the conformity of the lot, there are no next door neighbors. It is as private as a rural setting, and yet as convenient as urban life, being steps to acres of dedicated open space, steps to downtown coffee shops, restaurants and retail stores. From its two decks there are views of bay bridge, Mt. Tam & Oakland Skyline. One can take a short stroll to historical downtown where you can admire the Victorian buildings, visit unique retailers, sip at your favorite wine bar and shop at the Thursday night farmers market. We are looking for someone who will respect its historical architecture, and who will love the property as much as we do. The rent will be $4,400.00 a month, with a one year lease: but a long term tenant is preferred. (Note: David and I have a small office in an ADU below the main residence, for business purposes, and and will not be living on-site.)
