The foundation was replaced in 2009 with a new code compliant foundation that included shear wall and hardware for seismic safety. After that was completed, the old gas lines and ancient floor furnaces were removed and a new high efficiency central heating system was installed with new registers to all rooms and a new gas line. In 2015, a new high efficiency tankless water heater was installed with new copper hot water lines. In addition, the service line (meter to the house) was converted to copper so all supply lines to the tankless water heater are now copper, both inside and outside the house. The galvanized to copper conversion is now around 75% complete and will be fully completed after the kitchen and bath are remodeled. In 2015 a brand new roof was installed along with 4 Velux solar skylights. The old roof was completely torn off and new plywood sheathing was added as an underlayment for the new roofing material. A new gas insert fireplace was added in December 2018. This was facilitated by earlier work to repair the chimney which was done during the 2015 re-roofing project which was mentioned earlier.
