I have all of the furniture and essentials for the common areas (Family room, dining room, kitchen). This includes: couch, flat screen TV, kitchen table, coffee table etc. (The bedroom and bathroom are not furnished). Washer and dryer are included in the unit. Rent: 1BD and 1BTH condos are being rented for $1,700-$2,100/month in Parc Reston and $2,500-$3,500 in nearby Harrison Apartments. I am asking $1,350 for the 1bd1bth shared unit. It's a great value for the location! Security Deposit: The security deposit is equivalent to your first month's rent. Lease Duration: 18 months ($1,350/month) or 12 months ($1,450/month) Parking: You will have a reserved parking space within the community. Also, there is ample street parking. Roommate: The roommate is male, mid 20s, very friendly and respectful. Utilities: The $1,350 rent includes water and trash removal. It doesn't include electricity and internet/cable, which will be split between you and the roommate. Electricity ranges anywhere from $50-$130 depending on the month (winter months being more than summer). Internet and cable costs about $100. So your total monthly cost would be around: $1,350 (Rent) $40-$50 (Electricity) $50 (Internet and Cable) Roughly $1,450/month Living with Roommate Savings: You would save about $650/month or $7,800/year compared to a similar situation where you live alone in a 1bd1bth in Parc Reston which would charge $1,900/month.. Rent- $1,900 Electricity- $100 Internet and cable- $100 Cost of living alone- $2,100/month Location: The apartment is located within walking distance to Reston Town Center, 3-5 minutes driving distance to the Wiehle Metro station, and about a 10 minute walk from the Reston town Center Metro station. It is also very close to the Dulles Toll road, and Dulles Airport which is nice if you travel frequently or need to commute into DC. The location is great for all types of people. If you are an active outdoors person, there are many biking/running/walking trails that are easily accessible (i.e. the WOD trail). If you like to go out, you are in luck! The apartment is within walking distance of the Reston Town Center, home to many restaurants including: Mortons, Jacksons, Rio Grande, The Counter, Passion Fish, Barcelona, Bar Taco, etc. There is always something going on in the Town Center including: Oktoberfest, Taste of Reston, Wine Tasting Festivals, art festivals, etc. If you are into eating healthy, during the summer, the Reston Farmers market is just a walk down North Shore Drive at Lake Anne! If you are more of the quiet type, this could be the perfect apartment for you. The neighborhood is very quiet, our neighbors are nice and respectful (no noise violations), and the community has an indoor gym and outdoor pool which are nice perks.
