This home has been renovated whimsically first in the front in 2000, with lovely, unique kitchen cabinets and skylights, and then in 2015-2017 a wonderful custom, curvy new addition and remodel designed by the new owner, building designer Cynthia Zwerling, and built by Jeff Sentle Construction along with Cynthia. We added a swooped steep gabled 2-story that slopes down to a swooped cone roof atop a round room with several custom windows. The roof has two eyebrow dormers which gently slope into the roof, with custom windows crafted by local Bob Tewksbury. Stucco covered hard-sculpted bull-nosing around the windows and handmade cedar windowsills and Swiss-inspired carved fascia boards by Cynthia look like toffee with rounded edges. Too many curves to mention. Amazing local river-rock surrounds the whole addition, by peerless mason Shane Swensen. All rafter-tails were hand-cut by the owner, and some in the back look like fiddle-head ferns. It's a must-see! There are all custom, unique dual-pane windows in the addition. Curved staircase with antique wrought iron scrollwork railings, up to the special loft with new maple hardwood floors. Downstairs has red oak hardwood floors and a step-down conversation pit in the round room which will soon have a wood-stove. The master bath is unlike any you've seen before: a peacock-themed room with curvy cob sculpture in the corner, custom tilework and hand-poured concrete with glass and copper inlaid countertop and curved wood vanity with copper sink. There are two amazing custom tile mosaic swirls in copper slate, regular slate and little bits of travertine, and in the bathroom there's green marble tile and a rainforest tile/copper BB and glass blob swirl mosaic. There are also many salvage items that were modified to create medieval-looking features such as a round-top door made from a rectangular 1970s door, and secondhand French doors were converted into French-country-style curved window. We planned the back unit to become an Air BnB later, once I finish the railing and peacock tile mosaic in the master bathroom. There will be a kitchenette in the new addition and will be one large Air BnB Master suite with loft, so there is a lot of additional income potential with this property!
