So you can grow your own herbs year-round, and admire exotic plants while eating dinner. Below the main living quarters is the large partially finished walk out basement. Here, in the utility room, you will find the geothermal heat pumps that quietly and efficiently heat and cool the house and greenhouse. Also a (rarely used) water softener. There is also a central vacuum system, the powerful motor for which is located here. Next to the utility room is a controlled-environment 500 bottle wine cellar, with the perfect conditions for long (or short) term storage for your favorite wines. There are two separate storage rooms, and many shelves for your storage needs. There is also much open floor space in the basement, historically used for a gymnasium, as the coolness of the basement prevents overheating while exercising. Aside from the natural beauty surrounding the house, there are gardens with rhododendrons and a number of other decorative, low-maintenance plants and shrubs. Also included is low-maintenance in-ground irrigation. Along the low-maintenance gravel driveway to the house is a storage pole barn with garage door, for keeping outdoor equipment and toys. The driveway makes a circle in front of the house, making it much easier to access. The owners ask $1,399,000- a very reasonable price for such a rare find.
