This is the best neighborhood we have lived in. There are many reasons to love our neighborhood, which we will describe below, but most of all we love it because of the people. Unlike many upscale neighborhoods, people in Maplecrest and its adjoining neighborhoods are very friendly and helpful. There is a real sense of community here. We have made more friends here than anywhere we have lived. Maplecrest has strict CC&Rs, but those also help keep the neighborhood looking great and the home values appreciating. You don't need to worry about your neighbor letting their yard go or having cars under repair in their driveway. Also unlike most neighborhoods in the area, Maplecrest has custom homes built by many different builders. So the homes are not cookie-cutter and do not all look alike. Maplecrest has a great, centrally-located park with a basketball court, swings, playground, benches, and picnic tables. Maplecrest also has a scenic walking/biking trail. Maplecrest also has many activities throughout the year including an Easter Egg hunt and a summer barbecue. Since we have children, another benefit is Maplecrest's proximity to Harmony Elementary and Pacific Middle School. Our children walk to Harmony elementary with the other neighborhood kids, which is a 5 minute walk from our home. Another benefit of our neighborhood is that it falls in the boundaries for the new Union high school. Union high school is the most sought-after high school boundary in Southwest Washington. Union is Clark county's most expansive and expensive high school. Union has a collegiate-style campus specifically designed to house students in smaller, school-within-a-school academies, or "learning communities." Union's four study programs are: Engineering and Environmental Studies; Business and Leadership; International Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts.
