It is a uniquely rare property and an incredibly lovely place to live. Perfect for hosting your upcoming holiday parties. This beautiful home sits on 12 acres in a private canyon. It's located at the west end of Ramona, an easy commute to other San Diego areas. Poway is just 15 minutes away. Property is next to, and looks like, Dos Picos County Park. Many big oaks, boulders, and other natural trees and foliage. A large flat area, once used for a dressage practice arena, is on the East side of property. This summer I had a new gazebo and louvered pergola installed in the backyard. I also had two large, removable shade sails installed over the back yard turf area. There is a nice area of unshaded grass for people and animals to enjoy. Once the weather cools, you can remove the shade sails over the turf and reinstall them when it gets hot again. We used to have a seasonal stream on the property but with the drought, it hasn't run for a few years. The area is still exceptionally beautiful. This lovely, large home, includes living room, dining room, family room with fireplace, kitchen, breakfast room, laundry, pet room, three large bedrooms and two and half baths. One bedroom and bathroom is on the lower level with a sliding door providing access to the backyard. One large upstairs bedroom has a kitchenette with an area of LVP flooring. The rest of the room is carpeted. In addition to two central heat and air conditioning systems, it also has a portable air conditioner in the bedroom with kitchenette (great option should one or more of you work from home or have a need for a different room temperature). The two full baths both have a small in wall heater by the toilet. It makes the room so much more pleasant on a chilly day. There is also a downstairs powder room by the kitchen/family room. Both large bathrooms have custom onyx topped vanities-one bath has an onyx tub and shower combo and the other an onyx shower. In the backyard, there is a beautiful pool with large lounging steps (NOTE weekly pool maintenance and gardener are included in the rent). The pool is surrounded by a big fenced backyard. Parking-There is a two car garage, plus extra paved parking for several vehicles and a large field which will accommodate many cars and another smaller field for overflow should you throw a wedding or huge shebang of a party :-) (Don't know what that word means but I heard it spoken when I was growing up). The home has a separate laundry/pet room with storage and shelving. The pet area with sink can be closed off by a pocket door. I keep animal food and a cat box in that room. The house has two large dog doors, one which opens from the pet room to the front yard and one from the downstairs bedroom which opens out to the fenced backyard (both dog doors can easily be closed off). There is a stand up attic with pull down ladder for additional storage. The attic is great for storing holiday and rarely used items. As mentioned in addition to the central heat and air, one of the bedrooms has a kitchenette and a window air conditioner so the entire upstairs does not have to be cooled. The rooms are easily kept warm using a small heater without heating or cooling the entire upstairs. Either room is perfect for a college student or parent. The room with the full kitchenette has a sink with garbage disposal. The full sized refrigerator is not included. The two upstairs bedrooms are two thirds carpeted but the other third has vinyl plank flooring. As mentioned, one has the kitchenette in the vinyl plank area. For years, usually once a month, an Indian tribe has set up a Tipi in the large field to the East. They gather inside the tipi starting about sunset. The ceremony includes chanting, singing, praying, and blessing through the night. They always bless this property and all those who reside upon it. After breakfast, they clean the area and leave. One year, two tribe members ran from Alaska and two ran from Peru and met on this property for a special ceremony. I feel honored. It has been a truly wonderful experience. In just a few minutes walk time, you can reach Dos Picos County Park where you'll find: hiking trails, a beautiful park pond with catch and release fishing, an exercise course, and a large area with children's play equipment. In the summer there are movies and lectures in the camping section. Especially during the summer, my boys were often up before the sun so they could be the first to fish. Summers and weekends they hiked, biked and fished entire days and often didn't come home until the sun set or they got hungry. This house is close enough to easily bike or walk home for lunch. There is a private hiking trail into the mountains for those who live in "our canyon". If you like to hike, I've been told the trail starting near the end of the canyon links to the hiking trail at Poway Road. If you have a spa, there is a special area with a concrete pad surrounded by a fence in the side yard with electric and water hookups. If you have an electric spa, you will pay any additional electric usage at tru-up. I have two meters so we can see what you are using. If the spa is run on propane no hook up currently exist. You would have to pay to have a propane line brought in. First and last month's rent plus a $2000 deposit is required. Your last month's rent and deposit are due at contract signing. Your first month's rent is payable at move-in. I will ask to speak with you prior to showing the home. I will give you my number, please call to arrange a time to talk and then set a time to tour the home. I don't require renters insurance. You decide if you need it. With climate change we are having more and more major fires. If you don't have your own, I have an agent who can help you obtain it.
