My Father and Mother, Edwin and Phyllis Brooker had this home built in late 1961. I have the deed to the home and the home was built to my Dad's spefications for what he could afford at that time. Originally the dining room was a 1 car garage. Appx 1975 he had the 1 car garage converted into a dining room. Also he had a 2 1/2 car garage built and blacktop driveway put in. The originial driveway where the 1 car garage was was dug out and grass was laid out. He then put sliding glass doors in the middle bedroom(my bedroom!) and built a deck. He planted many fruit trees. The garden was behind the garage. He had grape vines all along the back fence. If memory serves me correctly the home was purchaced for 11,000. When he retired in 1984 they sold the home for 69,900. BIG MISTAKE! The mortgage was paid off in 1976. His payments were 175.00 a month! I have an entire childhood of pictures of this place as it was our family home where myself, my brothers and then later the grandkids came to live at times. We always came together as a family on Sundays for Daddy's grilled chicken... Sheila Gene Brooker-Price daughter of Edwin Junior & Phyllis Gene Brooker
