Building permit #1210 was issued in 1927 for Block 24, Lots 17-20, which would be 175 Kilburn Road across the street. However, the enclosed architectural drawings are clearly for this house at 178 Kilburn. Architect Robert T. Schaefer prepared the plans, but the facade elevations were designed by local prodigy Olive Tjaden, with a few minor alterations as built.
