We are looking to rent the house for the Spring 2019. We think in particular that it will be perfect for incoming Purdue faculty/post-docs/visiting scholars who will either a) be here for a single semester or b) those who plan to be here longer, but who (reasonably) want to take some time to get a feel for the local neighborhoods and real estate market before plunging in and purchasing a home. The house is in the West Lafayette school district. It is about a 10 minute drive from campus. It is also right on the free-for-Purdue employees Bus 5 Happy Hollow Rt; a stop is about 100 ft from our front door, and the route passes through campus. There are also bike paths into campus. The place is roughly 1800 sq ft and has three bedroom (one with a king, one with a queen, the third we use as an office), two full bathrooms, a cosy living room, a separate family room that is very comfortable and gets great light, kitchen, and legitimate office. The place fully furnished but there is some room for flexibility. There is space to store some of our (or your) furniture in either the bedroom we use as an office or the two car garage (which contains a ping pong table you d be free to use). Additional amenities include: Apple TV, gas cooking, central heat/AC, washer/dryer, a nice back yard with beds for growing vegetables/flowers if you re into that, and a patio with a working gas grill. The house is pet-friendly. We can work with exact dates on the lease, but the general idea is for the academic year. The basic template for that would be January 1 - May 31st 2019; we re a bit flexible on those, so please feel free to ask. We re asking $1000 / month plus utilities, which includes gas, electric, internet, trash pickup, water, and usually runs about $200 - $250/month. Additionally, we d ask renters to either keep up with mowing the lawn and keeping the weeds in check. We're asking for a $500 security deposit.
