Camp Uncas is one of the finest, most historically significant grand camps in the Adirondacks. Built by William West Durant, father of the Adirondack "Great Camp" style, it was owned for half a century by American financier J.P. Morgan and family. With 1700 ft. frontage on secluded Mohegan Lake, the 5-bedroom Main Lodge, two self-sufficient guest cabins, boat house and lean-to combine outstanding rustic architecture, original furnishings, a comfortable scale and design for year-round living and entertaining, and one of the most peaceful, quiet and private settings in the Adirondack Park. In 2010, Camp Uncas was designated a National Landmark by the U.S. Dept. of Interior.
