Home has split HVAC systems. North side uses Heat Pump, south side (gas). Both north and south ends have both inside air handlers replace with (new) air handlers. The outside condensing units have also been replaced-north end heat pump (high ceer), south end also replaced with higher ceer condensing units. I purchased in 2000 and have involved myself in a perpetual upgrade to home Including windows and other changes that have saved considerable money regarding cooling and heating. I asked owner "what's was your worst utility bill" - he told me (in 2000) about $750 per month. Only once did I get a bill that high, reason is that I picked the wrong company to provide utils. I usually average between $200-$450 - depending on time of year. We like to keep the temp @ 60 degrees in the summer. Nothing is exaggerated.
