Innis Arden was put on the market in October 1940. The Boeing Company bought the land from the Puget Mill Company (Pope and Talbot) after it had been logged. Boeing cleared the land, laid out the streets and then plotted the first addition. It is a neighborhood of expensive homes with expansive views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula. There is a homeowners association and covenants that limit growth in the neighborhood (lots are typically 1/2 acre in size and not subdividable) and protect views. All power and telecom wiring is underground.
