This cabin is only 10 minutes outside of Buena Vista, but when you're sitting in the living room or on the deck, you'll feel like you're in the middle of the woods because you are! The property backs up to the San Isabel National Forest, and you have private access to a 10+ mile trail system including trails to the peaks of Sheep's Head and Red Deer mountains. Those trails also boast mountain biking and link up to a road with car-accessible dispersed camping within a 5 minute walk from the back door. It's great for when you want to have a lot of guests, but don't really want a ton of people in the house 24/7. In the winter, you've got a ski in, ski out paradise with what I'd argue is the most fun 3.5 mile XC ski loop in the valley. You can also skin up the trail to Sheep's Head for some pretty solid tree skiing! Between the south-facing back deck, covered balcony, and screened-in porch, there's a comfortable spot to be outside in almost any weather. You'll see lots of wildlife including deer, elk, foxes, antelope, and moose. The ideal move-in date would be October 1st, but we can be flexible for a couple of weeks on either side of that. All utilities are included! (Power, water, internet, live-monitored security, trash, and recycling) We're looking for at least a one-year lease, and would prefer to offer it fully-furnished, but we can store any furniture you don't want. Pets are generally ok, but if you can't guarantee they'll stay on the property, they need to be leashed up when outdoors. While it doesn't have AC, we've never come close to needing it. This house is at 8,800 feet, so it always cools off at night, and the southern windows were designed to let light flood in during the winter but keep the interior shaded all summer.
