9-11 MONTH RENTAL (flexible, start as early as July 1 through May 2027). We are renting our beautiful, furnished 3BR / 1.5 bath house in East Lansdowne for the academic year, short-term with start and end dates flexible (as early as July through end of May). The house was built in 1930 and has lots of original charm, including dark wood trim and lovely hardwoods throughout. It's currently home to quite a few houseplants but if you aren't a plant person we're happy to take them along with us or home them with friends while we're away. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms--currently set up as two bedrooms and an office--and a full bath. All bedrooms have hardwoods, closets, and ceiling fans. The bathroom was recently updated with a new tub and shower, and we are redoing the floor this summer before we head out which is to say the bathroom will be newly remodeled. Downstairs, there's a dining room, living room, large kitchen and a half bath. Kitchen will be stocked with essential cookware, and was recently updated with new stainless steel fridge and oven. There's laundry in the basement. The house sits on a corner, quarter acre lot, with two majestic oak trees along the side that make it feel cozy and magical (we think). There's a great front porch and a large partially fenced-in backyard that feels pretty private. There are garden beds with herbs, veggies, and flowers which we hope will be thriving by late summer and that whoever moves in will enjoy. Also off-street parking for two cars. Lansdowne is a great place to live if you love the city but also love trees, outdoor space, and a little more quiet. By car, we're just under 15 minutes by to the heart of west Philly, just under 20 to Penn, and about 30 to Rittenhouse Square. There's a train stop about a mile from the house in downtown Lansdowne that will take you to center city in less than 20 minutes. It's great. Lansdowne's downtown is charming, there's an historic theater, a coffee shop with good beans and house made tomato pie slices, bus stops, a record store, an oddity shop, some restaurants and a couple convenience stores. 2-3 blocks from the house we have a couple food marts that sell eggs, milk, bread, breakfast sandwiches and so forth. We are responsive and hospitable as hosts, and will do our best to ensure that whoever stays will enjoy the house as much as we do. Rent is $1900 plus utilities (electricity, internet, water & heating oil). We're glad to share average costs based on the use of two people. We'll cover lawn maintenance, but you'll be responsible for shoveling the side walks in winter which the borough does enforce with tickets.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
