    What's special

This a very nice, very spacious, and very well-maintained apartment located on the 1900 block of West Eddy Street in Roscoe Village. It's the first floor of a classic, brick Chicago two-flat on an oversized 35-foot wide lot. It has a nice view up and down the street that, with its southern exposure, catches the sun all day long. It also has all the following: Large living room with decorative fireplace. Huge picture window and side bay windows. Large dining room with original built-in buffet. Large kitchen with self-closing cabinets, walk-in pantry, dishwasher, and disposal. Newer appliances. Updated bathroom. Two very nice bedrooms, both of which can accommodate a queen-sized bed. A great sun porch overlooking the backyard and garden. Hardwood floors. Carved woodwork from back when they still did that sort of thing by hand. Miniblinds throughout. 9-foot ceilings. Air conditioning. Free laundry facilities. Private storage area in the (totally dry) basement. Lush backyard garden with winding brick patio. Ample street parking. A three-block walk to the shops and restaurants of Roscoe Village and a two-block walk to the new Brown Line station at Addison & Lincoln. Want to know the very best part? That's easy. As nice as the apartment is, the best thing about the place is the people who live on Eddy Street. They range in age from 20s to 70s or so. Everyone knows each other's name and, before long, you'll probably know theirs, too. People say "Hi" in the morning, stop and chat on their way home in the evening, and when the weather's nice you'll usually see someone out on their front porch with a bottle of wine and a couple of extra glasses. Before long, there might be seven or eight people gathering, talking, telling stories, and enjoying a good laugh about something that happened earlier in the day. Occasionally, someone will pull out their phone and order a pizza or two from Bartoli's around the corner. All the while, other neighbors stop as they're heading home or on their way back out for the evening. In the winter, one or two folks will bring out a big snowblower and clear the whole sidewalk, both sides of the street. It's not that they have to, it's just the nice thing to do. Just as importantly, like good neighbors should, everyone respects each other's privacy while also keeping a lookout for one another, too. There's always someone available who can collect the mail and packages if somebody's away; toss a lime over the fence when, while in the middle of making a nice, crisp vodka tonic on a summer's night it's realized there are none in the fridge; lend some folding chairs and a table when company's coming; provide a jump for the battery when the car's interior light was accidentally left on overnight; or, give a push after a big snowstorm. If that's the kind of neighbors you'd like, and if that's the kind of person you are, then stop by and take a look at the apartment. You can reach us by phone or text or email. We'll be happy to show you around. Even if you don't rent the apartment, it'll be nice to meet you! We pay for water. You pay for gas and electric. Ample free street parking. ** Sorry, but due to allergies, there's no smoking/vaping or pets allowed.
