For their safety, tenants are required to change the batteries in the smoke detectors annually and to check the detectors quarterly. Tenants must maintain the lawn including snow removal, mowing, bush trimming, and complying with local ordinances. Tenants also are responsible for replacing burned out lights and other minor maintenance.
