    What's special

Two story, three bedroom two bath house in St. Anne's Hill historic district. This neighborhood has a very active association and has frequent social events, as well as regular meetings to keep everyone connected and informed. The co-op Fifth Street Brewpub is right at the end of the street, not more than a 2 minute walk. New York Pizza and Taqueria Mixteca are also within an easy walk. All the attractions of the Oregon District are also within walking or very quick driving distance. The house has large rooms with a library, living room, dining room, bathroom, and kitchen downstairs. The first three rooms downstairs have beautiful maple flooring. These three rooms have 10 foot ceilings and there are transoms on several of the doors. There are ceiling fans in the library and living room. Beautiful rose-themed stained glass in the library, living room, and dining room. The library has a nonworking fireplace with a large mantle, perfect with bookshelves on either side and a mantle clock. The dining room has a wonderful built in oak cabinet which provides abundant space for storage and display. The kitchen was redone in about 2002 with maple cabinets and a dishwasher was added. The first floor laundry room is just off the kitchen and has the same maple cabinets, so it can double as a pantry. There are 3 bedrooms and one bath upstairs. The floors upstairs are the original pine. A couple of rooms have maple laminate over those floors, but it could be easily removed. There are ceiling fans in 2 of the bedrooms and plentiful windows. The kitchen opens out onto a large attached wood deck which is reinforced with steel beams and can support a hot tub. It is large enough for a six person hot tub, and a set of patio furniture along with assorted flower pots and other miscellany. The back yard is fenced and has some beautiful flowers (including a wonderfully scented old fashioned rose bush) and a lot of opportunity for a garden or more flower beds. There is a full basement under the first three rooms and a crawl space under the kitchen. The huge detached garage is actually a two-story carriage house and has room for at least one car and generous space, on the main floor and upstairs, for a workshop or other use.
