As soon as the electric is in place, HolstonConnect can run the fiber for the high speed internet. There is no charge for installation. The monthly packages are $49.95 (500 Mbps), $59.95 (750 Mbps), and $79.95 (1 Gbps). We’ve had the Rogersville Water Commission provide an estimate to get the water service started on the property ($1,100). They confirmed that the main water line is on our side of the road so no boring under the road will be required. From the time the order is placed and the fee is paid, it takes about a week to get the water service in place and turned on. We’re on the schedule to have the property re-surveyed and marked with new flags/markers, specifically along all property lines that aren’t already well-defined by the roads. We’ve obtained an estimate from a very good excavation company to put in the driveway/road to the top of the hill (our chosen building site), along with an option for digging a basement. Next on the list would be to apply for the septic permit. We’ve decided to hold off on moving forward with getting these utilities installed for now. Our plan and location for the utilities may be very different from those of the new property owner and it makes zero sense to go through the work and expense only to have the buyer decide to change things down the road.
