Designed in 1906 by George Stratton Mills, 2044 Collingwood has a Spanish Mission Revival style exterior with green French clay roof tiles accented by a solid cyprus wood structure. The inside is a fusion of three aesthetic design styles: Colonial, Arts and Crafts, and l'Art Nouveau. The first floor features crown molding, mantels, doors, paneling and a grand stairwell made with Mexican mahogany fusing all three styles. The grand stairwell has hand carved l'Art Nouveau tulip spindles balanced with Arts and Crafts spindles and a dramatic newel post, all decorated with a floral wood inlay of walnut and maple. The woodworking, hand carved mantels, mosaics, and leaded glass windows highlight a triple flora motif of irises, tulips, and roses.
