Previously known as Edgewater a recent total refresh led us to give her a new name along with her updates meeting the needs of the most discerning guest. This vintage 4 br/3.5bath cottage has been lovingly restored by keeping some unique original aspects and updating with coastal modern flair. Numerous windows not only allow for ample natural sunlight and breeze, but 180-degree views of Casco Bay from almost every room in the house. With three levels of living space, a gourmet kitchen, outside dining and seating, and private stairs to the beach, this home will ensure a luxurious and memorable Maine vacation for up to eight guests. Main Level: Upon entering 21 Mason Street, there is a convenient mudroom for your shoes, sandy towels and suitcase storage in the custom closet. There is also a half-bath with whimsical wallpaper to mimic the swirling sea. From there, you enter into the large, open kitchen and living area where the sweeping views of Casco Bay are on full display. The gourmet kitchen offers a granite island that seats four; stainless appliances including a gas range; farmer's sink; a "see-through" fridge that allows you to look at your beautiful local produce without opening the door. The kitchen is fully appointed with all your cooking and entertaining needs. Especially charming are the brushed gold cabinet pulls and nautical lights that give nod to the sailboats passing outside and reclaimed wood accents that add a touch of rustic warmth. There is a dining table for six with views of the grassy yard and ocean. For lounging, the comfortable living area has a couch, 2 armchairs, Samsung flat-panel TV and gas-fireplace (the remote is located on the wall). This level is a calming palette of white and navy, with pops of color in the art, pillows and of course, with the ever-changing sky outside. From this level, walk down your own staircase to a quiet, sandy beach, where you can watch the sunrise, the sailboats pass by, search for shells and enjoy happy hour. Lower Level: The garden level space stays nice and cool during the hot summer days because of the exposed granite walls and air conditioning. Even though it has lovely views, it naturally stays darker than the upper levels for movie watching and for those who prefer sleeping in. There is an entertainment area with a swinging wicker chair, sectional couch, flat-panel TV and stocked dry bar. The bathroom has an incredible standing shower encased with exposed granite and a window, so you almost feel like you are outside. There is also a full laundry room. Bedroom Disclaimer: If you are bringing children, there will most definitely be a rock-paper-scissors battle over who gets the loft bed. Even adults wish they were small again to tuck away in this raised bed with a ladder and rope banister...the lucky winner will dream like they are on a sailboat! There is also a queen bed in this room with views from three windows out over the lawn and water. Upper Level: Ascending the stairs, take notice of the large seagull feet photo on display, rope railing and light fixtures; every detail in this home is so thoughtful. This level has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one attached to the primary bedroom. The primary ensuite has a king bed with luxury linens and custom closet. A sliding barn door leads to the bathroom with large shower and double sink-vanity. Three large windows gaze out onto the water and you will sleep soundly with the waves in the background. The second bedroom is a romantic escape decorated in soft whites and creams, with a queen canopy bed, shell-fixtures, desk and a wicker swinging chair that overlooks the water. The third bedroom is decorated in soft whites and greens with a queen bed and two Serena & Lily side tables. The bathroom area has a separate sink area next to the blue and white tiled standing shower and toilet. Falmouth: A mere ten minute drive will have you in downtown Portland or the airport. But three minutes away places you in the hub of Falmouth, where two country clubs, specialty food markets, restaurants, delis, antique shops and marina are located.
