The Community of Sunmeadow is located on 175 acres along Chigger Creek in Friendswood, Texas, and is nestled in the far northwest corner of Galveston County. The subdivision consists of 539 single family residences, 23 town homes, and 8 duplexes, all of which were developed by the Sunmeadow Development Corporation. Sunmeadow is uniquely laid out with the main drive, East and West Castle Harbour encircling the neighborhood and several cul-de-sac streets emanating from it. Initially, Sunmeadow was not a part of Friendswood and was referred to as Sunmeadow Village. In 1972, residents petitioned the City of Friendswood and asked to be annexed. On February 5, 1973, the annexation of Sunmeadow was approved by City Council. Sunmeadow has a very diverse population. Many original homeowners still live here. We have our share of retirees, as well as young families just starting out. Sunmeadow residents are proud of their neighborhood and work hard to maintain their properties which results in a higher quality of life and increased property values. It’s hard to believe Sunmeadow is 40 years old!! With its mature trees and park-like atmosphere, Sunmeadow remains a great place to call home.
