In general, I prefer no pets but, as the owner of a very well behaved mini schnauzer myself, I am willing to consider small dogs with a track record of good behavior. Birds (so long as not noisily disruptive to neighbors) and fish are welcome.
Landlord prefers renters willing to sign 2-year contracts and independent- minded renters who will handle minor inconveniences such as changing lightbulbs or smoke detector batteries and who will alert landlord to (unlikely) more complex maintenance requirements in advance, discuss a plan of action and cost, and, if appropriate, oversee the needed repairs. In this high rise with excellent maintenance staff, repairs needed by outside contractors, while not unheard of, are rare.
