Recreation such as hiking, biking, and jogging are open to the public at the Yadkin River Greenway, and the fabulous nine-mile Dark Mountain Trail on the W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir property. W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir is the only lake of this size in Northwestern North Carolina and offers wonderful fishing and water sport opportunities. If you love adventure, try canoeing or kayaking down the mighty Yadkin River or Roaring River.Golf, another recreation for visitors and locals, can be found at area public courses, and at private courses such as Oakwoods Country Club and Jefferson Landing Club.
