Neighborhood Description Riverside was developed after the Great Fire of 1901. Portions of the neighborhood fell into decay in the 1970's and 80's. With the renewed interest in historic homes, the neighborhood underwent a renaissance in the late 1990's and through the new millenium. Most homes have been renovated but occassionally bargain fixer-uppers can be found. This area is in the heart of the city with easy access to downtown, as well as, I-10 and I-95. Having lived in and renovated two of my own homes in the neighborhood, I can honestly say there is no place else I would rather live.
