    What's special

Back porchDecent sized shared backyardHigh coved ceilingsOversized pantry

Hi there! We are 15ish people sharing six units in adjoining 1890s Victorian triplexes and a nice-sized backyard at the edge of Boulevard Park. Our community is intentional but casual, with regular potlucks in the backyard when the weather is good and in one or the other of the homes when it's cold or wet. We also throw various other gatherings and celebrations, and periodically invite our neighbors over. The apartment itself is reasonably well preserved, with the charm, detailing (original built-in cabinet/drawers, high coved ceilings, original rustic Douglas Fir floors), and also rough edges of an old Victorian. It's on the ground floor, and the layout of the unit is shotgun-style: living room with bay window in front, bedroom in the middle, and kitchen in back with an oversized pantry-- 615 square feet total, not counting a back porch. Heat and A/C are supplied by Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits, and there is an induction range for cooking. The place is old and sound isolation is not perfect; you'll hear us padding around above you. There's a back porch with washer and dryer that opens onto a decent sized shared backyard. This is a great walkable neighborhood. We're around the corner from the Weatherstone cafe, within a few blocks of a bunch of other good cafes, within walking distance of many restaurants and watering holes, a hardware store, and lots else. We are two blocks from the popular Saturday midtown farmers market, featuring farmstands, crafts, and tons of food stalls. We're also a 5-10 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk from downtown, a few minutes bike ride from the American River bike trail, and right on the edge of the Boulevard Park and all its huge trees and wonderful century-old mansions. We're ages 4 through 52, occupying a smattering of roles out there in the world such as legislative staff, grocery store clerk, environmental scientist, a computer specialist, TK student, field scientist, teacher, transportation policy wonk/engineer, etc. We're queer and straight, and come from various cultural backgrounds. Don't misunderstand this as delineating who we'd like to have join us, but we thought it might be helpful to share who we are at the moment. If this sounds up your alley, please shoot us a note! Tell us about yourself/yourselves and what you're looking for in a place to live, and about your interest in being part of a community. Also feel free to ask us questions. Thanks for reading! We would like a long-term ( 1 year) tenant, but the lease is month-to-month. Utilities: We pay garbage-water-sewage, you pay for electricity and gas
