The building was completely renovated and converted to condos in 2003. The original Hotel Detroit, the frame part of the building between the 2 brick additions, was built in 1888. The east side brick addition, which is where this condo is located was built in 1914, and the west side brick addition was added first sometime between 1905 and 1910. This is also documented in photographs of the hotel, with a 1913 copyright, showing the west side brick addition, but the east side brick addition, where this condo is located, is not shown, because it was not built until 1914, the following year.
