    What's special

Located East of Broadway, near the river. Federal flood plain letter allows flood insurance to be purchased for the home. This house did not flood in the floods of 1993 and 1995. Older "plains-era" functionality in house. Home was three Dutch shotgun styled apartments converted into spacious four bedroom, single family home. Roughly 1 1/2 times the average size of homes in Lemay. Neighborhood Description Blue-collar working class neighborhood with many children, many older residents as well. Mostly old-style Germantown blue-collar families (with some professional services workers scattered throughout), with lower serious crime rate, good police presence, and very fast emergency response times due to nearby police precinct HQ and substations, as well as nearby full-service Lemay Fire Protection District. Nun retirement community around the corner (Sisters of Notre Dame), and the home is on the gateway road to the new casino going up in south county. Less than 1 mile north of Jefferson Barracks parks. Old Lemay is mostly wooden, balloon-framed structures with late 1800's and early 1900's charm.
