Fourteen miles of beach on Long Island Sound - starts at the Housatonic River to the edge of West Haven, Ct. Fort Trumbull beach sets a pace for beach lovers, walk along the sandy shores and Silver Sands Boardwalk. There are several convenient boat marinas - Milford Town Marina, Milford Harbor Marina - The Beautiful Milford Yacht located at the mouth of Milford Harbor. The club offers fine dining, swimming pool for all family members to enjoy. A summer sailing camp for the young family members. Thursday night races are a treat! Arriving out of the harbor around 5:30 and races start just around 6. They race between Charles Island and the opening of Milford Harbor. Join the viewers along Trumbull Avenue - park benches at end of each street. The early morning walkers can enjoy the sunrise popping over Point Lookout to the east. Along Trumbull Avenue the first full Moon watchers line up to get ready for the occasion. Milford Green - train station east or west travel is an easy walk. Great shops, fine eateries are worth the walk. 1st event after the cold weather passes is the St.Patrick's Day Parade. This great event brings everyone out to celebrate the arrival of Spring. Artisian Fairs begin in May(Mother DAY). Greatest event of the Summer season is Milford Oyster festival in August brings families/friends from everywhere. Last but not lease the Green events close with the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony the Friday after Thanksgiving. Cold has never been a hindrance - young or old and everyone one between enjoy this last event.
