    What's special

Built in 1920, the vernacular style Bungalow is located in the Tuscawilla Park Historic District. It features 12-foot ceilings in each room; wood floors in living and dining rooms and bedrooms; fireplaces in livingroom and two of the bedrooms; French doors in two of the bedrooms; original built-ins and clawfoot bath tubs. Previous owners used the separate cinderblock structure as a guest house, we use it for storage/laundry and son's band practice. Neighborhood Description Tuscawilla Park is one of four National Register Historic Districts in Ocala, the Horse Capital of the World. Considered a landmark district, the neighborhood has local historic significance in the areas of religion, philanthropy, politics and government, commerce, and architecture (details are available at http://www.ocalafl.org). The neighborhood features a mix of still affordable, mostly renovated, historic homes (c. 1877- 1930). Residents include families, professionals and retirees. The area is rated "Very Walkable" and is just a stroll away from the popular Tuscawilla Park (fishing lake, playground, picnic tables, tennis and basketball courts) and the Downtown Ocala Historic District with its unique shopping, dining and entertainment (regular events on the Downtown Square include Light Up Ocala, Symphony Under the Lights, One Ocala/One Community Festival and annual St. Patty's Day Celebration). The neighborhood is home to one of Florida's oldest Jewish synagogues, the Women's Club of Ocala's 1916 community center (now a church), Ocala Fire Department's main fire station, Discovery Science Center, and headquarters of the Historic Ocala Preservation Society. The neighborhood also features historic ornamental street lights.
