The house has been completely renovated. There are brand new appliances, and the hardwood floors have been refurbished, and the apartment has been freshly painted as well. The house is about a 5 minute walk to Downtown Scottsville. The town is very dog friendly. There are plenty of places where dogs are allowed. There are also nice paths around the town for walking. There is a nature area with a large pond and trails for walking. There is a Food Lion, Dollar General, James River Brewing, Baine's Coffee and Books, Farmstead Ferments, Soothe (an apothecary of a recently legalized plant), a cupcake shop called Baked on the James, Amici's Italian restaurant, Red Rose Pub, Tavern on the James, Ace Hardware store, and 3, yes 3, gas stations. Most of these businesses are within a 5 minute walk. The Scottsville Elementary School is about 7 minutes away. Walton Middle school is 20 minutes away and Monticello High school is about 30 minutes away. Piedmont Community College is located near the high school. The house is divided into 2 apartments. This apartment is located in the front of the house. It has 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, one bathroom, and a bonus room. Renter will pay 2/3 of the electric and water bills. Average water bill is $25. The electric is about $150. The lease is for one year. Tours are available pretty much at any time. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING OF CIGARETTES IN THE HOUSE. Should you smoke, cigarette butts must be placed in a fire resistant container. Should any butts be found in the yard you will be charged $100 fee. If you smoke in the house you will be charged a $500 fee. These fees are in addition to the deposit and non-negotiable. We love animals and are happy to allow you to have them but Pitbulls and Presa Canario are not allowed (this includes mixed breeds). Our insurance will not allow them. There is plenty of room in the house for a large dog. Cats are allowed as well, but should the house smell like cat urine you will be responsible for the clean up. We have a huge yard but it in not fenced in. Chickens are allowed as well. The house is about a 5 minute walk to Downtown Scottsville. The town is very dog friendly.
