Pros: -Family friendly, diverse community (Indian, Latino, African, African American, White folks in my building). -Everyone is nice and keep to themselves mostly. -Easy access to the buses that run on Washtenaw (e.g., 4, 23). -Community pools, tennis courts, beautiful nature trail, small gym. Cons: -Pet rent (e.g., $40/mo per cat). -A bit noisy because close to Washtenaw, but I got used to it. -Carpet (except in the kitchen). This is a LEASE TRANSFER. What does that mean? My wife and I just bought a home in Ypsi and will need to transfer the current apartment lease to someone. Glencoe Hills does not have month to month, so they made us sign a new yearly lease in August. I spoke to the main office and they said these transfers are common and would involve 1) you applying ($50 app fee), 2) paying the deposit, and 3) signing a year lease. If you search "Copper Harbor - 2 Bed 1 Bath - 1000 Sq. Ft." on the Glencoe Hills website (mckinley.com), you'll find the exact floor plan for this apartment. Given the recent rent increases this apartment is going for $1,379 - $1,399. But since I renewed my lease the rent for this apartment only increased to $1,249 (+$50-$60 in water, sewer, trash utilities). The closest main intersection is Washtenaw and Carpenter. OTHER INFO FROM THE WEBSITE Less than a mile from US 23, and you'll have easy access to 1-94 and M-14 keeping you around the corner from world class dining, shopping, and cultural facilities offered in downtown Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
