This loft is in an old stove factory and is full of character. High ceilings, tall windows and exposed brick overlooking the Detroit River. Across the street is a beautiful riverside park and the beginning of the Detroit Riverwalk. This used to be my loft but I travel frequently: I have worked as a journalist and publisher in India and I teach High School on tall ships during semesters at sea. I am currently sailing around the world on my 42' sailboat. You will mostly be dealing with my mom, Karen, who lives a few blocks away in the West Village of Detroit. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils. Then there's the bed: queen and super comfortable from Tuft and Needle. Sleep is very important to me so I made sure the bed is amazing. The mattress has been sealed inside a waterproof mattress protector since I bought it and will remain that way. The loft has an HDTV with a Roku. There is also a large table and desk area with ample space. The loft is available furnished on a month-to-month basis with no limit to how long you can continue to renew the month-to-month lease, which renews automatically each month unless you give us notice that you wish to move out. We can remove small decorations from the loft at your request and you are welcome to bring additional furniture, but the furniture that is in the loft must remain there. There is an elevator in the building but I did not list it as an amenity because it is very old and often does not work. I would not count on having elevator access. There is a coin-operated laundry room just down the hall and gated parking (a parking pass and gate opener) is included in the lease.
