Fox Springs Lodge offers endless possibilities as a children's camp, retreat center, music and event venue, summer resort, lodging for outdoor sports, or ecological center. Fox Springs Lodge is a summer resort nestled in a quite Meramec river valley near Cuba, Missouri. The lodge has been open for business since 1926, serving hundreds of couples and families, some for generations. The main lodge building is two stories tall, with a wraparound porch on the main level. It was last renovated in 1972. Upstairs, there are ten suites ranging from one to three bedrooms, each featuring its own bathroom and each decorated in a rustic style. The main floor of the lodge features a full size commercial kitchen with a dishwashing room, cold storage, and a pantry. A pair of wooden doors connects the kitchen to the dining room, which has windows along two sides, a warm wood floor, and enough space to seat 100 people. In the main lodge area, there is a fireplace, snack bar, and an open floor used for square dancing, sing alongs, and talent shows. The lodge also features a ping-pong table and shuffle board area.Set around the valley are fourteen white cabins with screened-in porches They range in size from one to four bedrooms, each with its own entrance to the porch. Each room or pair of rooms has an attached bathroom.There is a stone and frame house that is used by the owners year-round. It has upstairs bedrooms, one upstairs bathroom and one downstairs bathroom. The upstairs features a landing which is surrounded by single pane windows. Downstairs, there is an open plan living room/kitchen, two offices, and a laundry and storage room.There are other stone outbuildings on the property that are used to store equipment and tools.A creek runs the length of the valley, crossed by multiple stone bridges. The creek is clear and cold, full of crawfish and minnows. The woods feature walking trails, and provide ample shade in the summer. Baseball, kickball, and field day games can be played on a lush open grass in the middle of the valley. Across from the lawn is a full size swimming pool and miniature golf course. Other features include a volleyball court, two tennis courts, a shuffleboard court, two swing sets, a playhouse, a bonfire area, horseshoe pits, and a bell tower.The surrounding area features multiple floating services, several caves that are open for tours, the beautiful Meramec Springs state park and tout hatchery, horseback riding services, gold courses, and several wineries that have weekend concerts. The property is ideally located for any kind of business, as visitors are sure to find plenty of activities to enjoy, both on the property and in the surrounding area.
