The house was in quality condition and Mike was always quick to fix or help out with anything that was broken or seemed to not be working. The terms of the lease were clear, and there was little confusion between my housemates and I as to when bills were due or what was expected of us. Additionally, Mike is one of the quickest responding landlords I've met! As young adults new to living on their own, this was wonderful, especially in situations where we had issues that needed to be resolved quickly. Finally, the rental price was one of the most reasonable I could find in the area. Especially as a Bard student living off campus, this was the more affordable option. Thank you once again Mike! I wish you the best of luck and a wonderful rest of your year. Best, Kelsey #2: Dear future tenants, Welcome to 23/25 Thompson Street! I hope you will enjoy the house as much as I did. Maybe you don't realize it yet, but this place is easily one of the top three rentals available in Red Hook, and I feel I can say that after I spent a year in a different, truly awful rental. Living at 23 Thompson was great for a number of reasons, and you can make it even better by appreciating that your landlord is on your side. My last place had a company in charge of the rental, and trying to get anything taken care of was a huge ordeal. It is such a blessing to have not only a face and real person to talk to, but to have someone like Mike who genuinely wants his tenants to be happy. He understands that students have weird hours and tries to respect them. He is prompt in his responses to questions, too. You should never feel like there's something you can't ask him. He's an honest guy and just wants honesty in return. Still, I always felt like he treated me as an equal and as a person rather than just a monthly rent check. I'd say Mike's biggest flaw is he seemed to worry a lot, but I think that showed just how much he cares about the house and those who occupy it. Anyways, you lucked out in getting a great house that comes with a great landlord. I hope you like it. Best, Megan Bard students. Secure Now for the 2026 Fall semester and 2027 Spring Semester. Rent begins August 2026 on this Vintage Village Red Hook Rental. Close walk to Bard Shuttle and stores. 3 bedroom, 1 bath to accommodate 3 BARD students.
