Shadowbrook Apartments are a nice, really well managed property that is currently undergoing significant renovations. The property has a large footprint although only 200 units and different sections of the property have a fairly different feel to them. In one section are units overlooking the pool area, which can be more social and active and other sections that are more wooded and have waterfalls, which offer a nice white noise. The Shadowbrook apartment units themselves have a good deal of variance as well, but even the base units are quite nice. Options that are available but not standard include fireplaces, central AC, stainless steel appliances and washer/dryers in unit. Even units that lack all of these come with a nice hardwood floors and renovated patios. The property was built in the 1960s and while renovated, the interiors still feel a little like a Mad Men set. The closet space is good, but not great overall. If your unit doesn't have a washer/dryer, there are 3 laundry facilities spread across the property. The amenities are solid and are currently being improved. There are two pools and hot tubs, the gym is being renovated and will have all new equipment, and a new business center is being added which will offer residents free printing/faxing/wifi. Residents are assigned one parking spot and guest spots can be hard to come by. If you don't want to fight for street parking you can pay $45/month for an extra spot. Deposits for Shadowbrook are $500 for a one bedroom and $60 for a two bedroom, application fees are $25/applicant. Overall, we recommend Shadowbrook - the floor plans and amenities are solid and the management is incredibly friendly.
