Whole house generator, This home is truly magic. NOTE FROM THE SELLERS: It is with sadness that we have seen the FOR SALE sign go up in front of 231 Hearn Avenue after more than 14 happy years in this sunny house with its high ceilings, tall windows and lovely hardwood floors. But circumstances change. The call of family and grandchildren is a powerful one, and soon we will be on our way to another state. Among our fondest memories of 231 Hearn are our evenings on the back patio. An automatic irrigation system keeps the surrounding plants green all summer long. We set out battery-powered lamps, fire up the grill, tune in our Bluetooth speaker and linger at the table well into the evening. We've also cherished our holiday and other gatherings for family and friends. (For the occasional large group, there's plenty of parking permitted all along Edgewood Avenue. If we move our own cars, guests can utilize the three spaces at the house.) Near the patio is the generator. Although rarely called upon, it has provided great peace of mind. It goes on automatically in the event of a power failure, and shuts off when power is restored. It is a high-capacity unit powerful enough to keep all lights, appliances, electronics, and HVAC systems functioning without interruption. Being only a couple, we've never taken advantage of the spacious family room on the lower level. We can imagine how cozy it would be with bookcases, a wall-mounted TV, a wrap-around sofa in front of the gas fireplace, and a separate room perfect for a home office or a place to do homework in quiet. Another feature of 231 Hearn that we will miss is its country-like setting, its quietness, and its freedom from pollution. You wake up to birds singing and go to sleep in utter peace, the silence interrupted occasionally by the soft hooting of an owl that nests somewhere to the north of us. And then there are the neighbors, both on Hearn and Edgewood Avenue, who could not be more friendly and helpful. We will miss them. Our house in Berwyn brought us much joy. We know it will bring joy to its new owners as well. That is our fondest wish. 2021-11-02
