In the words of the seller...We bought 2359 Valley Vista in 2010 because we fell in love with the character of the house, right from the brick and stone entryway and the arched front door to the glass lit bookshelves flanking the stone fireplace. It felt like it was straight out of a storybook. The house has great flow for parties, from the dining room to the back patio to the vaulted one-and-a-half-story office or family room, and right back into the kitchen! We also loved the stone back patio, where we hosted many small get togethers over a firepit during the pandemic. Our kids loved the front yard for sledding and the back yard for projecting movies with the neighborhood kids. Also, the hardwood floors and turning staircase are beautiful. The upstairs has larger and deeper closets than the average for this area. The large upstairs bath and extra spaces in the hallways allowed for built-in cabinets and bookshelves for the children's books. Our king-sized bed fits perfectly in the primary and we enjoyed the his-and-hers closets with the deep cedar closet for extra storage. Our children have had many joyful nights in their rooms, first in cribs, then in toddler beds, then in bunks and a double. They peeked out on the fun happening in the back yard on many nights. However, the best feature of this house, we learned over the years, is the neighborhood. This block and the surrounding blocks are teaming with kids of all ages, who attend the local school (Bloom) and the area's private schools. The neighbors are friendly, warm, and ready to welcome newcomers. Valley Vista is within walking distance to the shops at Douglass Loop, to Bellarmine, Joe Creason Park and the Louisville Nature Preserve. It's also close to the historic rock-quarry-turned pool, Lakeside. Grocery stores, local restaurants, churches, and independent shops abound. It's also minutes from the Watterson Expressway and not too far from downtown.
