This charming home, known as The Freeman House, was built in 1911 and is a Sears Roebuck home. It is the only house in Cape to be granted historical landmark status as a Sears home. From 1908 through 1940, Sears Roebuck sold house plans and complete kits for assembling homes. The kits included all the lumber, shingles, drywall, and piping needed, 30,000 pieces total – but the labor was up to the purchaser.
