This is one of the biggest homes on the block in one of the most sought after neighborhoods (St. Anthony Park) in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Finding a home over 2,000 square feet in this neighborhood is rare and those that are have a much higher price tag (for the record, the public record states 1600 sq ft, but there was a 500 sq ft great room added in the 80s. Don't know why that isn't recorded). From the cedar siding to the multiple bay windows to the vaulted family room with new hardwood maple floors, marble surround gas fireplace and custom steel stair rails, this house is a great entertainment and wonderfully livable home. Neighborhood Description St. Anthony Park is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Our area of the neighborhood has a lot of young families. The St. Anthony Park Elementary school, which is within walking distance, is one of the top elementary schools in the state of Minnesota. We have two colleges within the confines of the neighborhood, Luther Seminary and the University of Minnesota (St. Paul campus). There is a small town center with a gourmet restaurant (Muffeletta's), bookstore, Andrew Carnegie granted library, award-winning wine shop and several boutiques. This gives our small neighborhood a European/small town charm. St. Anthony Park is the home to thousands of centuries old trees, giving the neighborhood an old town feel. It was historically the home of several state governors, and although now is part of St. Paul proper, was once the first St. Paul suburb. It was designed by the same architects that designed Forest Park (Chicago), IL, a neighborhood unique in its being established among the hills and trees as opposed to leveling out the area. St. Anthony Park is home to many university professors, professionals, artists, and formerly the home of celebrities like Garrison Keillor (Lake Wobegon), Andrew Zimmern (Bizarre Foods) and legendary showman Dudley Riggs. There are several parks within walking distances. It is fun to just go for walks along the sidewalk, peering at the architecture and beauty of this tony neighborhood.
