In 1927 the Jackson Bluff Dam was constructed on the Ochlockonee River and Lake Talquin was created, it’s a full recreational 8800+/- acre lake / reservoir located between Tallahassee and Quincy, Florida. It's ~14 miles long and over a mile wide. You'll enjoy fishing, water sports and the opportunity to observe wildlife in a natural setting.... A majority of the shoreline is State Forest and only approximately 15% of the shoreline is developed, creating a true sanctuary for all to enjoy. Nature lovers will enjoy the rolling hills and deep ravines with forest of pines, water oaks, magnolias…, marshes, and islands.
