Situated on a double lot (nearly an acre) in the Village of Fayetteville, the main part of our cedar shake house was built in 1873. Additions were added over the years. The total square footage now is nearly 1800. Each of the 3 bedrooms and a master bath are upstairs. (Alas ... we are selling now because we need a home with a master on the main floor.) Two staircases lead to the second floor; one off the living room and another in the rear, off the family room. Our main floor has an open kitchen, dining room, and family room (with a remote controlled gas fireplace). In addition, we have a living room, sewing room (we gave it that name because that’s how we use it), small library room and our solarium. A first floor laundry and a first floor full bath complete our main living space. Our deck overlooks our large back yard. It’s located just outside the solarium. We have hardwood floors throughout (plank floors in the kitchen, family room, and sewing room). The roof is two years old. Our home has a central air conditioning system as well as a built-in humidifier and Aprilaire filter. We replaced the furnace two years ago. Internet and cable are available from both Spectrum and Verizon FIOS. We have two garages; one is integral to the house; the other we added, separate from the house, and had it designed and built to reflect the same architectural scheme as the house e.g. cedar shake and similar roof lines. We also added electrical wiring to accommodate an external power generator in the event of any extended power outages. (We’ve lived here 17 years and never used it.)
